Due to the restrictions in place across England and the decreased level of trade in our industry, it is not currently feasible for us to staff the venue.

The venue will be closed when you arrive to check-in. On booking, you will receive instructions on how to contact us when you arrive so we can meet you to check you in

The hotel is closed to the general public but remains open for guests travelling for the following:

  • Work or educational purposes
  • Moving house
  • Self-isolating by law 
  • Caring for a vulnerable person
  • Attending a medical appointment
  • Attending a funeral

At the end of a long day, there is nothing better than to sink into a comfy bed. At The Royal we want you to find a home from home. We have fourteen rooms, which have all been lovingly decorated to a high standard. 

All our bedrooms are en-suite and boast free wi-fi, flatscreen TVs, tea and coffee making facilities. Our luxury beds are designed for comfort, come along and try them for yourself.

Parking

We currently have one parking space available to guests at the discretion of the hotel management. This space costs £5 per night and is available in line with our check-in and check-out times. To check availability of the space you will need to contact the hotel directly, please do not use third party sites to communicate with us about parking

As we are not able to offer parking for all our guests we do advise that you plan your visit around using Lancaster’s public car parks. Lucy Street pay and display is just behind the hotel and the Auction Market is roughly a minute walk away. Both will charge approximately £10 for 24 hours

Checking In/Out

You can check-in from 3 pm every day. If you are planning to arrive later than 9 pm, please call us to confirm your arrival time so we can ensure someone is on-site to meet you. Check out is before 11 am on the day of your departure. Due to Covid-19 restrictions in place, we are currently not offering early check-in or late checkout.

Please be aware that all our rooms in the main hotel are on the first and second floors of the building and are accessible only by stairs. We have one ground floor disabled access room available in our Stables building. You can always give us a call to discuss your needs.

We are currently unable to offer breakfast. All bookings are for room only, there is no breakfast included and we are not offering breakfast for an additional cost.
